C. Bishop Burbidge stopped in to thank the Council for input for
the Diocesan Plan and
to say that information will
go public in December on the Diocesan Building Plan
D. Diocesan Pastoral Plan Draft Consultation was led by Mike
Fedewa and Katheen
Walsh … (this took about 2
hours)
E. Plans for Jubilee were finalized
F. Bishop’s Appreciation Day 2010 is Saturday, Sept. 25 at CGHS.
We are looking into
the possibility of an
overnight again. Sr. Shirley is checking with the Knights of
Columbus for assistance with
funding. Sr. Mary Jean will be checking with Sisters
nearer to Raleigh for
possible housing for Sisters from outside the area. More
discussion will take place
at the next meeting.
G. Council thanked Sr. Gerry for her great promotion of
vocations at the Convocation.
Next year we will plan it
for the Education Conference Day also; it was too late to
do it this year.
H. Religious Retirement Collection update … so far, only 6
pastors have asked for Women
Religious to speak. We see
this as a great chance to promote vocations to our
congregations but have yet
to convince the pastors of this.
I. The topic of Vocations promotions will be the sole purpose of
a meeting on Jan. 7
We will contact Sr. Evelyn
Craig and the committee members to join us for this meeting.
J. Next meeting of the Council will be Thursday,
February 11th, 12-3 at the Catholic Center. |
